Gun Measures Pass

Two gun violence prevention measures passed the Illinois legislature and now go to the Governor’s desk:

  • Senate Bill 337, the Combatting Illegal Gun Trafficking Act, would hold corrupt gun dealers accountable and enact provisions to better record and track private sales.
  • House Bill 2354, the Firearms Restraining Order, would allow for a family member or law enforcement to petition the courts to temporarily remove firearms from the home of a loved one who is a risk to themselves or others.

This success is great news, but our work is not over. Please contact the Governor TODAY and ask him to sign these bills. Click here to contact Governor Rauner.
